Original Character Contest

This is a mix between game and contest. It is about creating OCs. And not just any OCs, but putting them into something already existing! And here comes the game:

You have to create a new OC that matches with a list of random words.
For example coffee, potato, pink,...

You can work the words either into the OC's outfit or into the chara-bios (there has to be both!) Each OC has to match into the complete list. (For closer information read on in the FAQ)

This contest is for fun! So go as wild as you want on the OC!

FAQ

How exactly does the creation of the OCs with the list work?
So anyone understands, I will give you an example:

If this was the list:
violin, green, wing, mushroom



If this was the entry, violin, green and wing would be alright. But Mushroom is still not in. So we need something in the bio.

Bad example: She likes mushrooms. <-This is highly uncreative, so this entry won't have many chances to get a price... This contest is not about art alone, but about being able to create something new and unique in a creative and interesting way.

Good example: Living in a Mushroom-forest in a little hut, she started to hate the scent of them, trying to get out of her home soon. <-This is very nice and funny in a way. (Remember this is just an example so you understand what it is about)

With this, the list is worked off, now there is plenty of space for your own ideas!

How will the entries be judged?
I'm working with a 'oint'-system. How exactly it works I won't tell because I don't want this to turn into a 'oint-hunt'!

But what I judge is:

-creativity: How are the ideas developed? Does the chara have a unique design/bio?
-effort: Did someone rush the entry or is it visible that effort was put into it?
-character: Is the OC realistic or a Mary Sue? Is it a boring personality or someone who you'd actually have interest in?


What is the Special-Price about?
As any other person here on DA, I have personal preferences and if there is an entry I truly like personally which didn't get a price, I give this picture the special-price. This way I try to keep personal preferences out of the main-judging of the pieces.

Which Media is allowed?
All kind of drawings are allowed. Traditional, digital,... it is all okay. Photography and other media as sculps are alright too, but it is very hard to 'create' a character this way. I do not say that these medias are not allowed, but it is very hard to get the theme/game with it.
Poetry and Prose is not allowed as it is about creating both, a bio and a design!

How are we supposed to write the bio?
As bio I count a little text about personality and history. There are no specific rules how long or short it has to be, but a good guide-line is between 200-600 words. Of course, longer bios, maybe even with a little short-story or whatever would be very welcomed as well!

Are we allowed to send in more than one entry?
Yes, you are, but you can't win more than one price. Means: If you make with your two entries place 1 and 3, the 3rd place won't be counted.
